MUSIC

the chancel choir

LIFT EVERY VOICE! AND SING!

Our congregational singing is improving steadily! The “Lord’s Prayer,” which is sung on communion Sundays, sounds stronger every month. The hymns and spiritual songs that are familiar ring with enthusiasm, and we are learning new songs more quickly.   Say, “Amen!”

Worship leadership through music is an important part of the weekly worship in the Presbyterian Church at Tenafly, and there are many fine musicians who lead us in worship.

There are some positions still available in the chancel choir. This choir is open to anyone who enjoys singing and learning new music as a group. Participation in the choir need not be a lifetime commitment. Perhaps you would like to try it out for a few weeks, or for a season, such as Christmas or Easter.  Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings at 9AM, and Thursday evenings!

In addition to the regular Sunday morning rehearsals at 9 AM, the choir will be having extra weeknight rehearsals this year, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM. This will be an opportunity to learn worship music, as well as to bond together as a fellowship body with a calling.   Transportation to Thursday rehearsals can be arranged, if you prefer not to drive at night.

Choir may not be for everyone, but it MAY be for you! No previous experience is needed, just a desire to be a part of this wonderful group, and to enjoy assisting in worship leadership.

If you think that you might like to give choir a try, contact Anna Lim or Karen Baron.

The “Lilley Bells” are up and ringing!!! Rehearsals are Sundays after worship in the Lounge.
