for 2012




An old Haitian Proverb says,
"When women dish out the food, everyone eats".
With that in mind, women, and their children, will be the focus of our 2012 event.

SENDING OUR LOVE TO HAITI
is a coalition of churches and synagogues who came together in solidarity
in response to Haiti's devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010.

In 2010, SENDING OUR LOVE TO HAITI sent $100,000 to Haiti for immediate disaster relief.
In 2011, SENDING OUR LOVE TO HAITI sent $80,000 to Haiti to improve medical care and staff conditions.

PENTECOST SUNDAY

May 27, 2012

Each year we join with Presbyterians throughout the country in receiving an offering which is used exclusively for children and youth. On Sunday, May 27, we will again receive this offering. We hope you will participate in this giving.   Sixty per cent of the offering received will be joined with the offerings from other Presbyterian churches to support the ministries with children at risk and for youth and young adult program leadership within our denomination. Forty per cent of the offering will be retained by us to strengthen our own programs and ministries with children and youth, including a grant to Camp Johnsonburg to refurbish the trails at the Camp for the summer season.

 

May Eyeglass Collection

May Eyeglass Collection

During May we at PCAT will collect used prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses and reading glasses. These glasses will be refurbished by the Lions Club of America and distributed around the world to some of the 153 million people with a vision loss and no access to eyeglasses. Clean out your closets and drawers. Children’s glasses are especially needed. Look for the box labeled “EYEGLASSES” in the church entryway. Give the gift of sight!
